Are we estate agents or are we matchmakers?

With Valentine’s Day upon us, it came to mind that we are in effect Matchmakers and similarly to Eros, it’s a matter of head and heart when it comes to buyers falling in love with that perfect family home.  Our job as property experts is much more than a simple broking process but to really understand our buyers needs so that we can ultimately guide them to the right property.

Quite often clients will insist on a specific location or style of property, in our experience there will always be an element of compromise and on occasion, the final home can be the opposite of the original brief.

This talent we possess has proven quite successful in what can only be viewed as an incredibly confused market.  Vendors are hesitant to come to market, nervous about pricing, wary of agents overvaluing based on their need to increase stock levels and in general the depressive reporting on the property market as a whole.

So in order to combat this we conducted most of our sales activity on a low key basis during the winter months and although not visible to the general public with the usual marketing activity we were able to protect our clients’ interests and achieve some phenomenal sales results.

This is where the matchmaking comes into play, you cannot sell a £1.5 million home to someone without photography, without floor plans and in fact without any marketing collateral whatsoever unless you have the ability to assess accurately the needs and desire of your buyer and fundamentally create the perfect match.

Happy Valentine’s Day
