"London continues to play catch up with the rest of the UK, as market activity from both sellers and buyers picked up throughout spring. Whilst the rest of the UK enjoyed a particularly buoyant second half of 2020, London came out of lockdown slower. It’s been noted that buyers increasingly viewed more rural locations as viable alternatives to city life, with the lifestyle changes brought about due to COVID, not least of all a far more socially acceptable culture of working from home.
"A year on from lockdown one, and it seems that London is regaining some of its popularity, no doubt spurred by the current ‘roadmap’ which sees the country open up considerably in the coming month, and the very positive vaccine roll out, enticing international purchasers back to London in their droves. At a more local level, the appetite to move within London has picked up significantly in the last two months, with property prices beginning to creep up as demand grows, and properties being placed under offer very quickly, and in some cases before even making it ‘to market’."
