In the North East region, the average house price was £501,573, representing a 7.31 percent annual change. The premium price threshold in the North East is £376,000, which means the top five percent of sales were above this figure. Over the last 12 months, the average price per square foot has been around £247. The total value of sales over the past year has been £733 with 30 sales at or over £1 million.
The North East Premium Market
Prime property price growth in the North East is significantly higher than a year ago. Across the North East the average price of a prime property is just over £500,000. The highest premium threshold in the North East is in Durham this quarter at £450,000, with Newcastle not far behind at £424,000.
