Spring 2022 Sees Further Invaluable Funding Donated Across The World

This month, The Foundation awarded another round of grants to 16 charities working across the UK and overseas in their joint mission to end homelessness and poverty. A total of £31,752 was awarded, bringing the grand total granted to charitable organisations by The Foundation in 2022 to over £87,000.

Learn a bit more about the charities and projects which were supported during this round of the programme, below.

Northampton Hope Centre
Nominated by Fine & Country Northampton

Awarded £1,500 towards their Hand Up project offering practical support - in the form of housing, banking and medical aid - as well as a diagnosis support team, tackling mental health and substance misuse, offering their clients a unique opportunity to begin to manage the challenges they face.

Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire
Nominated by Fine & Country Coventry

A charity which homes 17 formerly-homeless people within the community, their grant of £2,592 will fund improvements to one of their three kitchens, giving independence as well as facilities to their clients.

Vineyard Community
Nominated by Fine & Country Richmond

Since Covid, Vineyard Community have re-opened their morning drop-in service which supports around 50 homeless people every day. Their grant of £3,000 will contribute towards the ongoing costs of running this service which is a vital provision for the local community.

Nuneaton Foodbank
Nominated by Fine & Country Coventry

In the year from April 1st 2021 Nuneaton Foodbank fed 1511 children and 2914 adults. Their grant of £1,000 will be used to buy food to supplement the donations they rely on to feed their clients.

Homeless in Teignbridge Support
Nominated by Fine & Country South Devon

Providing approximately 50 food parcels a day, HITS has been impacted by the increased demand for deliveries as well as the rise in fuel prices. Their grant of £1,500 will enable them to continue this service and support as many people as possible.

St Petrock’s
Nominated by Fine & Country Exeter

St Petrock’s provide a safe, familiar environment for their clients. Their centre is the only place in Exeter where rough sleepers can access a hot shower and laundry facilities.  Their grant of £3,000 will go towards providing sustainably packaged outreach meals.

YMCA Milton Keynes
Nominated by Fine & Country Milton Keynes

Our continued support of the YMCA Milton Keynes comes in the form of a £2,000 grant towards their Activities Project. This project provides physical activities such as football and cycling as well as therapeutic activities such as crafts and cooking.

Harbour Place Grimsby
Nominated by Fine & Country Brigg

Like many others, the pandemic impacted their service and reduced their Night Shelter capacity from 15 to 9. The shelter provides hot food, showers, a change of clothes, as well as advice on benefits, housing, health and harm reduction. Their £2,000 grant will contribute towards the cost of feeding their clients.

Let’s Feed Brum
Nominated by Fine & Country Birmingham

The volunteer-led charity run a weekly breakfast event every Tuesday and Thursday, which has become a crucial part of their activities in providing hot food, clothing and key supplies to people who most need it. Their £1,000 grant will help fund their mental health workshops, in partnership with Living Well UK, a consortium of mental health charities in Birmingham and Solihull.

Cambridge Women’s Aid
Nominated by Fine & Country Head Office

Cambridge Women’s Aid provide safe accommodation and practical support for women and children who are escaping domestic abuse. Their £3,000 grant will fund robust, easy to clean flooring, decoration and new furniture for their clients’ accommodation.

The Four Streets Project
Nominated by Fine & Country Chichester

£1,000 The Four Streets Project, set up by a mother and daughters, provide around 5,500 evening meals every year in the Chichester area. Since they began six years ago, their 100% voluntary team have not missed a single night. Their £1,000 grant will help to purchase food supplies as well as survival equipment and clothing for their clients.

Off the Fence Trust
Nominated by Fine & Country Brighton and Hove

Our continued support of Off the Fence and funding of £3,000 in this round of grants will purchase 127 sleeping bags for the homeless. This essential funding means they will meet the rise in demand they have seen over the past years due to the pandemic and the rise in the cost of living.

The 3 Pillars - Feeding the Homeless
Nominated by Fine & Country St Neots

The 3 Pillars provide a mobile hot food service to the areas of Peterborough, Cambridge and soon Rushden. They also give out sleeping bags, warm clothing, toiletries and underwear to the elderly and needy. Their grant of £1,500 will help purchase food, sleeping bags and tents.

Associacion Project 4 All
Nominated by Fine & Country Costa Blanca North

As well as delivering hot food to the homeless in Costa Blanca, assisting with laundry, providing shower facilities and support, Associacion Project 4 All has two halfway houses. Their grant of £2,000 will go towards the refurbishment of one of the kitchens in these houses, where the hot food packages are also prepared.

Spitalfields Crypt Trust
Nominated by Fine & Country East London

At Acorn House - their 16-bed recovery hostel for men who have previously been homeless and are in recovery from addiction – SCT deliver a Therapeutic Programme of group counselling to address the individuals’ problems with drugs/alcohol. Their grant of £2,160 will provide two months of food for their residents, where they instil the importance of healthy eating and supportive approach of mind, body and soul.
