Successful delivery from food parcel challenge
In November 2018, The Fine & Country Foundation challenged our offices in the UK and overseas to gather as much food and essential items as possible to support their local food banks.
Fine & Country offices were wonderfully enthusiastic, finding unique ways to collect items. Take a look at some of their efforts here:
Fine & Country Ross-on-Wye, Wales
Ann Higgins from Fine & Country Ross-on-Wye said: “We thought this was a good cause during November as Christmas approaches. Our team wanted to help people locally which is why we chose the Ross-on-Wye Community Food Larder. These boxes made us think of others. Some of us couldn’t pass a shop without buying extra items to put in the boxes, including extra treats. After all, it is nearly Christmas.”
Fine & Country Mauritius
Lakaz Lespwar is part of Caritas Ile Maurice, who received £2,921 from our spring grant programme. Olivia Bathfield and Paul Schwab from Fine & Country Mauritius have continued their commitment to their local homeless charity, following their Dodo Trail fundraising event in July. They were treated to a tour of the centre and met with the children and staff.
Fine & Country Northern Lincolnshire
This office has to win the prize for the most creative way to collect items. The Fine & Country Northern Lincolnshire team ventured out in Halloween costumes in October and Santa hats in November and door-knocked the local community. Their huge food haul was taken to the Scunthorpe Foodbank, member of the Trussell Trust.
Fine & Country Ingatestone, Essex
Our Ingatestone branch were thrilled to have the opportunity to support the Brentwood Foodbank, in association with Ingatestone Parish Church and Brentwood Council. Residents approach the council for support and are given produce from the storage. Long-lasting items like pasta, tinned meat and juice are essential to provide those in need with nutrients, energy and luxuries which we take for granted, like coffee.
Thank you to everyone who helped us build up our food parcels. These boxes are filled with healthy, long-lasting or essential household items that many of us take for granted. From baked beans to toilet paper, these collections are life-saving for many this winter.
