A note from the Vendor:
Main Court has been our family home for over 30 years, borne from a vision when we first stood on the plot and looked out across the beautiful open views of trees and fields with grazing horses and cattle – we knew then it was a truly unique setting. We built the house to specifically incorporate these views and designed it to be enjoyed by the whole of our multigenerational family, including many different entertainment and leisure areas, outside and in. This, along with the location really will make this a wonderful family home for the next people who move here.
The Tour:
Basement
The basement floor houses the garage with room for ten cars. There is also a wine cellar and the pool room, which enjoys a pitched penta glazed roof and large entertaining area with a sepa-rate kitchen, plus access to a private outdoor space. The adjoining reception room has been set up as a movie theatre.
Ground Floor
The galleried reception hall is the main feature of this floor, with two polished granite columns framing the entrance and a ceiling height close to 20ft with a Venetian glass chandelier. A grand sandstone fireplace adds to the Victorian character. Black and white marble tiles line the floor to the sweeping staircase featuring a specially commissioned 10ft by 15ft stained glass window. Five additional rooms are accessible via the hall; the drawing room, billiard room, dining room, family room and fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room incorporating a temperature controlled walk-in larder and and office and two adjoining orangeries.
First floor
On this floor is the master suite, featuring a spacious dressing room and en-suite bathroom, plus access to its own private terrace. Two further bedrooms share this floor, each of which also each have a dressing room and en-suite bathroom. All the bedrooms have been designed with custom noise reduction. A study to the front plus a wrap-around iron and mahogany balcony allows views down to the entrance hall and provides a useful minstrel gallery
Second floor
Accessible by lift or stairs, the top floor has four further good sized bedrooms, each with en suite facilities. These are accessed via an extended communal lounge area. There is also an additional kitchen at the north end.
Grounds
A gravel drive from the private road, leads to the property, located at the very edge of Gerrard’s Cross, so it is very peaceful. A large sun terrace provides far-reaching views over Bulstrode Park and the surrounding area which is accessible by foot. A tree-lined ma-ture garden is to the rear, and side gardens as well as the tennis court in the front garden bordered by numerous trees. You can also access the basement parking from the drive.
The Area
