Ancient House Museum of Thetford Life

This museum in Thetford is full of artifacts and stories from historic Norfolk. Located in a house that was built in 1500, each room in the museum has a different theme that reflects the country’s history. Norwich Cathedral

Located in Norfolk’s largest city, the Norwich Cathedral is a site that can’t be missed. The cathedral was constructed between 1000-1100 AD, and has the second largest cloisters in England. It’s easy to find in the city, and the cathedral hosts free guided tours every day to make sure that you get the most out of your experience. 

The Rose & Crown

While there is no shortage of wonderful pubs in Norfolk, none are quite so picturesque as the Rose & Crown in Snettisham. This pub is made of charming white brick and fulfils all the requirements of a quintessentially British country pub. Historical features abound in the open brick fireplace and off-kilter beams. All of the meals served in the pub are locally sourced, so it’s a great place to get a taste of local flavour. The gorgeous landscape of Snettisham beach is the perfect spot for an after-lunch walk. 

Cley Marshes

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Cley Marshes is a very popular spot for keen birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike. It’s the oldest of Norfolk’s Wildlife Trusts, and is arguably its most celebrated nature reserve because of the depth and breadth of habitats present. Take a walk along the shingle beach, see the saline lagoons, grazing marsh and reedbed that sustain large numbers of birds as they migrate across the country.
