4 Bedroom Detached House For Sale in Main Street, Swarby, Sleaford, Lincolnshire, NG34

4 4 4
A very attractive, quite substantial, Georgian style house stands in the quiet, little village of Swarby about 3 miles south of Sleaford and about 10 miles northeast of Grantham. The beautifully presented, relatively new house enjoys countryside views and has generous rooms with 4 bedrooms, 3 en suite, and 4 reception rooms. A large garage with office/studio space above and an expansive garden complete this exceptional home.

Road and rail links are excellent with the A15, the A17 and the A52 close by, and at Grantham the A1, also with fast train services to London. The area offers a wide choice of superb schools making this a perfect property for a family wishing for a rural lifestyle but needing easy access to London.

Seller Insights
“We chose the house as we loved the Georgian style with sash windows, high ceilings and the large, spacious rooms as well as the fantastic bathrooms and amazing kitchen but perhaps, above all, the stunning views. It is in such a beautiful rural position with good schools nearby yet so close to Grantham for fast trains to London for work. However, a new job in a new location has forced us to move; we are so sad to leave this lovely home!”

“We love the way it resembles a period house but has all the benefits of a new one; double-glazed, draught proof, sash windows but large letting in plenty of light; smooth, straight walls and floors with underfloor heating downstairs and sleek, modern bathrooms. All the rooms are well proportioned with all the bedrooms good-sized doubles, three of which having en suites, even the master bedroom’s has a bath as well as a separate shower, as does the family bathroom which serves the fourth bedroom. We recently upgraded all the showers with new tiling and new top specification showers.”

“We came here about 4 years ago and have since redecorated throughout using many Farrow & Ball paints. The kitchen walls are in Skylight and the units are now in Hague Blue having been cream previously. It is a fabulous room, L-shaped with the dining area benefitting the French doors onto the terrace and garden. It has been perfect for entertaining all year round but especially in summer. We’ve had some wonderful times here with a lot of family and friends to stay.”

“The back of the garage has been a great space on the ground floor for a snooker table, and the area above in the roof, accessed from the external stairs, is an amazing space that we have had used as an extra guest bedroom. It would be a fantastic outside home office too, or even an art studio or something similar. With the correct consents, someone could convert the whole garage into an annex if that was required.”

“The back of the house and garden has gorgeous views of rolling countryside as far as you can see. Sometimes there are cows grazing which creates a lovely bucolic scene. In the spring, we have particularly enjoyed watching all the wildlife such as baby rabbits in the fields.”

“The beautiful big garden is a huge asset. It is relatively low maintenance being mainly lawn and the slated and paved areas, but with some shrubs around the boundaries and a beautiful mauve wisteria climbing up the front of the house. The back garden is very private and sunny most of the afternoon and evening, in fact it falls on our hot tub for an end-of-the-day soak!”

“We have timber gates between the drive and the garage which makes it exceptionally secure. It is laid with Chelsea setts and a great area for working on or cleaning vehicles. The front drive is huge and accommodates lots of cars, ideal when entertaining!”

“There are lovely walks round here directly from the doorstep. Straight across the road you are onto a footpath which takes you over the hill to Osbournby, and there are plenty of pubs such as the Tally Ho on the A15, The Whichcote Arms in Osbournby and The Houblon Arms in Oasby if you are need of some refreshments or a good meal.”

Location
Swarby is a tiny, very peaceful village with a church, St. Mary & All Saints’ dating to the 13th century, in lovely, rolling Lincolnshire countryside not far from where the A15 crosses the A52. Some excellent pubs and restaurants are in the surrounding villages.

Being so close to the A15 and the A52, there is easy access to Sleaford less than 10 minutes to the north and Grantham less than 15 minutes to the west, where you can connect with the A1, or catch a fast train to London King’s Cross (approximate journey time of an hour). The market town of Newark-on-Trent, with its castle on the river, is less than half an hour to the northwest, similarly, glorious Stamford to the south, the historic cathedral city of Lincoln to the north, and Boston to the east. Nottingham is about an hour’s drive westwards.
