Located at the head of the Upper Calder Valley, Todmorden is a picturesque market town on the boundary of Yorkshire and Lancashire. The growth of the town accelerated during the industrial revolution with the establishment of textile mills alongside the Rochdale Canal and later the Leeds-Manchaster Railway.
